Thrackles

A thrackle drawing of a graph $G=(V,E)$ in the plane draws every edge as a simple arc so that every two distinct edges meet exactly once, either at a common endpoint or at a proper crossing. Prove or disprove that every thrackle satisfies $|E|\leq |V|$.
